Executive Committee leaders from our Chamber, the Northshore Business Council and the St. Tammany Economic Development Corporation met with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise during the spring congressional recess. He took questions on the economy, infrastructure and key federal legislation, including the “Big Beautiful Bill,” and shared insights on what’s ahead in Washington. Scalise also highlighted the growing perception and reputation of Louisiana among members of Congress, noting that this is the first time in history that both the House Speaker and the House Majority Leader are from the same state.
