Chamber members and the Northshore Business Council heard directly from Bill Cassidy during a Congressional Update Luncheon hosted by both organizations and sponsored by Acadian Ambulance Service.
Senator Cassidy shared updates on several key issues impacting our region, including major infrastructure investments—$1.2 billion for drainage, sewage, and flood mitigation around Lake Pontchartrain, along with $92 million for road projects like the widening of I-12. The conversation also covered education, workforce development and healthcare—including mental health. Members asked thoughtful questions on topics like healthcare funding, Social Security and immigration, making it a valuable and informative discussion about the issues shaping our business community.
