Our annual Swinging for Scholarships Golf Tournament, held Thursday, March 19, at Money Hill Golf Club in Abita Springs, brought out our biggest group of golfers yet and raised funds for the Chamber’s Scholarship Program. More than 100 golfers joined us for a great day on the course, with proceeds going toward scholarships for St. Tammany high school seniors continuing their education at Louisiana colleges and universities.
“We’re always excited to see this tournament grow each year and to watch so many of our members show up to support local students,” said St. Tammany Chamber CEO Lacey Osborne. “Because of our golfers and sponsors, we’re able to award scholarships to deserving seniors right here in St. Tammany, and we’re excited to announce this year’s recipients soon.”
First place honors went to a foursome of friends—Mark Brown, Mace Bourgeois, Larry Aleman and John McDowell. Closest-to-the-hole winners were Matthew Saucier with Gulf States Real Estate Services and Doug Ferrer with Red River Bank, while Glenn France with Barrett Business Services took home longest drive honors.
A special thank you goes to the Chamber’s President Level investors for serving as Masters Sponsors: American Bank, CGB Enterprises/Zen-Noh Grain, Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company, Hancock Whitney, JD Bank, Lakeview Hospital, Ochsner Health, OnPath Credit Union, REV Business, Slidell Memorial Hospital, St. Tammany Health System and Visit The Northshore. The Sadie Jane served as the Ace Sponsor; Bill Cassidy, U.S. Senate was the Golf Cart Sponsor; and Arena Collective, WAM Electric, Epic Federal Credit Union, BankPlus, Resource Bank and Banner Ford were Birdie Sponsors. We also appreciate the many additional sponsors and volunteers who played a part in making the tournament such a great day.
