At our annual Business Appreciation Awards Luncheon on November 13, 2025, Globalstar was recognized with the Tammany Proud Award, celebrating an outstanding business whose influence reaches far beyond the Northshore while reflecting the very best of St. Tammany Parish.

Globalstar is a growing international telecom infrastructure provider that is helping the world stay connected. Currently, the company is expanding its satellite network and ground support infrastructure across the globe, all while keeping its headquarters right here in Covington, Louisiana. Every vendor, partner, and regulator they work with sees Covington proudly listed as their home base.

The company’s global presence has drawn national attention. From hosting FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise at the grand opening of their state-of-the-art Satellite Operations Control Center, to supporting Apple’s announcement that the Apple Watch now joins the iPhone in emergency SOS communications via their satellites, Globalstar’s work is making an impact worldwide.

Every time they release a new product, new feature, or new network upgrade, the headline begins the same way: “COVINGTON, La.”

They’ve spent decades empowering customers to connect, transmit, and communicate safely, securely, and affordably—and now their innovation is supporting next-generation services for hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

The Tammany Proud Award was accepted by Dave Milla and Erik Wahl of Globalstar, and presented by Chris Abadie of Colliers Louisiana.
