The Advocacy and Public Policy Committee supports the Chamber’s role as the Voice of Business by helping identify, evaluate and advance policy positions that impact the St. Tammany business community. The committee provides a forum for discussion, education and collaboration on local, state and federal issues and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on matters of public policy.

Working alongside Chamber staff, board leadership and community partners, the committee helps ensure business perspectives are represented in discussions that shape economic growth, quality of life and long-term competitiveness across the parish. Through briefings, forums and issue-focused conversations, members stay informed and engaged on policy matters that affect the business climate, workforce and community development in St. Tammany Parish.

What the Committee Does

  • Hear from elected officials, subject-matter experts, and community leaders
  • Facilitate dialogue between business, civic, and government stakeholders
  • Review emerging issues and recommend positions of support or opposition to the Board
  • Support Chamber advocacy initiatives through education, outreach, and collaboration

The Advocacy and Public Policy Committee meets quarterly and plays a key role in advancing pro-business policies that support a strong economy and a thriving St. Tammany Parish.
