
St. Tammany Chamber CEO Lacey Osborne attended the semi-annual meeting of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Committee of 100, held September 14–16 in Louisville, Kentucky. The Committee includes chamber leaders from across the country who convene to discuss national business priorities and share best practices.
During the meeting, participants received updates on key federal issues impacting the business community, including trade and tariffs, childcare, healthcare, housing and immigration. Leaders also explored the growing role of artificial intelligence in both business operations and chamber work, as well as polling trends, midterm elections and the evolving role of business leadership in shaping federal policy.
A White House representative provided an overview of plans for the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration on July 4, 2026. Featured speakers also included the mayor of Louisville and the governor of Kentucky.
As part of the agenda, CEOs participated in strategy sessions and small-group discussions focused on economic populism, workforce and economic challenges, cultural issues, declining trust in government and sound bites on social media. Leaders noted the increasing nationalization of political discourse and emphasized the important role chambers can play in fostering informed civic engagement and constructive dialogue.
