Will Green, President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry

Will Green, president and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), highlighted significant improvements in Louisiana’s business climate during his virtual presentation to the Chamber’s Board. Under the LA Driven strategic plan, Louisiana has advanced from 42nd to the 20s in tax climate rankings after eliminating the franchise tax and implementing a flat income tax structure. Green emphasized four key priorities for 2025: workforce development through programs like MJ Foster expansion, early childhood education to address labor participation challenges, continued tax reform and stabilizing the insurance market.

The “Be Pro Be Proud” initiative connecting high school students with high-paying technical careers is a transformative program he hopes to bring to Louisiana. Additionally, he stressed the urgency of insurance reform, noting that our state faces a $1,000 annual tort tax per citizen due to legal system abuse, with Louisiana filing twice as many insurance claims as similarly-populated Alabama. Green also praised efforts to streamline DOTD projects, calling the reform “transformative” for infrastructure development. Download his presentation here.
