Alan Thriffiley with Total Insurance Planning is our Chamber’s 2021 Member of the Year. His tireless work behind the scenes representing the Chamber and its member businesses on critical parish issues earned him this recognition. In late 2020, the St. Tammany Parish President and Parish Council called upon various organizations to appoint a member to its Revenue Review Committee. The Committee’s charge was to study and determine the parish’s financial needs as it faced critical revenue challenges in the spring of 2022. Alan willingly—and enthusiastically—took on that huge task on behalf of the Chamber.
When presenting the award to Alan, Advocacy and Public Policy Committee Chairman Mike Saucier said, “Our member of the year may not be recognizable to you because he was behind the scenes serving on that critical committee, then advising our board of issues that can only be understood by the one qualified and with listening ears.” Congratulations, Alan!
